A Fringe Quickie (#102) with ‘Guy Branum: Be Fruitful’

Questions answered by Guy Branum.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

I am bringing my Golden Globe Award so that people on the street can take photos with it. I’m willing to leverage all my whorey Hollywood status to get people to see my show.

Q2: Cancel culture has finally come for your show. What sins has it committed?

Being too honest about gay lives and fears. The political wins of the last decades have made us scared to talk about the ways heteronormative happy endings aren’t a great fit for us, and that’s what my show is all about.

Q3: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

Holding court near the ice bucket, interrogating the sexier acrobatics and clown shows in a manner somewhere between flirty, bemused and disgusted. Slightly too drunk, slightly too sweaty, having slightly too good a time.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

Sweaty, profound, resplendent.
