A Fringe Quickie (#132) with ‘Cult Classic’

Questions answered by Hannah Platt.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

I’ve been sacrificing virgins all spring long in exchange for sold out shows. So fingers crossed! I’m also going to be providing fans for every audience member – very handy for all the hot, sweltering attics, bunkers and cupboard spaces you’ll be seeing shows in over the fringe.

Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?

Death in the Afternoon, which is absinthe and champagne. It’s got a creepy reputation and it’s not for everyone, but if it’s for you, it could be your new favourite.

Q3: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?

My therapist said I have to have something with a strong, precise and comforting scent that I can smell when I’m anxious. But my favourite smell is of damp, musty building sites – they don’t sell that in Lush. So I have a rock in a tub that I carry round. Smells amazing.

Q4: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

It’s playing ‘light as a feather, stiff as a board’ in the attic, enticing other people to join in.
