A Fringe Quickie (#124) with ‘Ludwig: Unfinished Business’

Questions answered by Mike Hatchard.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

I hold the unofficial record for singing upside down. I’ll take myself to Prince’s Street, invert myself and, dressed as Beethoven, alert the world in song to my show. Beethoven was once arrested for singing in public (yes, really) so if that happens it will be appropriate.

Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?

It would order all the people to leave and only return when they’ve bought a proper ticket.

Q3: Cancel culture has finally come for your show. What sins has it committed?

Talking in a rather obviously fake German accent. But Henning Vehn gets away with it…

Q4: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?

I actually remortgaged my granny, quite an accomplishment since I am nearly seventy and my granny, were she still alive, would be 146. It was a surprisingly easy transaction and my grandfather was entirely approving.
