A Fringe Quickie (#306) with ‘Olivia Raine Atwood: Faking It’

What do you/your show do to make an audience’s heart beat faster?

Sometimes, I stand on a chair, and I just know that makes people nervous. I’m a lanky, stringy girl, kind of like a life-sized, pale, uncoordinated green bean. Watching me quiver up there is enough to make anyone’s heart kick up a few notches out of fear for my safety.

How do you keep your performances fresh every night?

Trident Tropical Twist Sugar Free Gum keeps my mouth and my performance minty fresh, with a hint of lime. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get a whiff in the audience.

What misconceptions do you think people have about you/your show – would you like to clear them up?

I would very much like to clear some things up, thank you very much! I think most people suspect my show will be sexual in nature since it’s titled ‘Faking It.’ But instead my show is about my time undercover in New York City hospitals, acting as a fake patient pretending to have COVID to test doctors in 2020. What could go wrong! I was faking it. With doctors. Not like, in bed. Though I can see why you made that mental leap.
