A Fringe Quickie (#312) with ‘Jerk Off!’

Questions answered by Nadia P. Manzoor.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Running around The Meadows handing out free lube going “wanna jerk off? Then come to my show.” There’s a reason we named it this, babes.

Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?

A mango lassi spiked with some damn good tequila — so the aunties don’t know, innit. Sweet on top, absolutely unhinged underneath. Like the show.

Q3: If you brought this show home for the holidays, how would your parents react to them?

Abbu, my dad, would hear the title and ask if I’m going to expose myself on stage — he’s already asked. My mum, who’s dead, would love it. Because she’s my mum.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

As a multi-person show. Then they’ll go “wait, that was solo?” They’ll say “her dad was so good” — then “hold on, she played her dad.” That tends to be the effect.
