Questions answered by Carys Jeffrey Evans.
Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
Inviting Eurovision staples, including Graham Norton and some of my fav entries in recent years – though, annoyingly, the days of sending physical fan mail seems to be dead. Also, Count Binface apparently wants to enter Eurovision, so I may start beef with him too for a laugh.
Q2: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?
During my short-lived stint doing musical theatre at university, we were trained on proper vocal-safe screaming techniques. It’s been a few years since I’ve had a chance to whip out that party trick and really burn off some stressful vibes, but the fringe may be that opportunity.
Q3: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?
Obviously the one nicking the aux cord to play my 2020s Eurobangers playlist, and lamenting to any poor soul within shouting distance about how the UK doesn’t do badly at Eurovision because Europe hates us; We don’t take enough chances, and we’ve lost sight of the ESC spirit!
Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?
Suitable enough for a one-night stand, and a fun story to tell their mates if it all works out and I actually *do* appear on their TV screens as the UK’s Eurovision entry in May 2027.
