Questions answered by Verity Sharpe.
Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
I will dress as Geoff, the archetypal landlord, who features in the show. On the Meadows, during one of Scotland’s newly-installed heatwaves, punters will pelt water balloons, and hate, at Geoff. This should be a cathartic experience and refreshing experience.
Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?
A tall glass of lukewarm sewage water. It’s on theme and delicious.
Q3: We all have weird pre-performance rituals. What is yours, and how confused would a normal person be if they walked in on you doing it?
To get really riled up, I read the idiotic comments on the Landlord’s UK Facebook group whilst listening to 2010’s punk anthems. To any passer-by, this looks like psychological torture, and it is.
Q4: If you brought this show home for the holidays, how would your parents react to them?
My parents would despair. They would worry about how this unemployed multi-disciplinary artist with no fixed address and an unhealthy obsession with John Cooper Clarke would support their child. But they’d be happy I’d met my match.
