Questions answered by Gregory Nussen.
Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
Chasing them with an old rotary phone, making it ring the second I approach them, telling them its for them, and having a voice on the other end predict their future – which, you guessed it, includes seeing the show. Can I pull this off? Doubtful, but if I do, can you imagine?
Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?
A specialized cocktail that is only available in backrooms of speakeasies down secret corridors of already secret bars. It’s got gin, or whiskey, and it’s a shade of purple that also seems a bit dangerous. The bartender finishes it off with branded ice. It knocks you out.
Q3: Cancel culture has finally come for your show. What sins has it committed?
Not hard to imagine since my show touches on trans identity and the ongoing genocide in Gaza. I’m Jewish, but if anyone’s going to cancel me, it’ll be bad-faith reviewers accusing me of antisemitism. So far we’ve avoided that, but I’ll relish the chance to chat with anyone.
Q4: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?
My show is regaling you by the fire in the house’s musky library, where scores of leather-bound books adorn the shelves. My show is telling you a story, then opening up a secret passageway which ushers you into a labyrinth beyond the walls, and where everything is a bit silly.
