A Fringe Quickie (#314) with ‘ALIENS’

Questions answered by Marta Mcilduff.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Invite all my Hinge matches and tell them to bring their mum – I perform the show with MY mum so best case scenario we sell out, I find a wife, our in-laws can meet and we live happily ever after.

Q2: If you brought this show home for the holidays, how would your parents react to them?

She’s gay, won’t stop talking about migration policies and World War II but she’ll get drunk with you’re dad and compliment you’re mother’s cooking so they’ll love her and ask about her long after you break up: “How’s ALIENS, she was such a special girl” – your mum forever.

Q3: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

Our show is that nerdy gal by the fridge that’s talking politics and history but will throw down when the karaoke is pulled out – she’s singing Purple Rain by Prince so soulfully that now tears are rolling down you’re face and you don’t know when you started crying.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

You’ll either wake up wanting to call your mother to tell her you love her (or hate her) or with the feeling that we should dismantle all borders between nations and start a revolution – whichever instinct you wake up with – follow it ! (we’ll see you at the revolution)
