A Fringe Quickie (#282) with ‘Common Tongue’

Questions answered by Olivia Caw.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

I plan on drawing on the sporan strings of the Tartan Army’s broken heart. We aw feel a bit scunnert that we didn’t get to celebrate who we are for longer at the World Cup, Common Tongue captures that reclamation of authentic national identity. Good c*nts, n pride. So ‘mon doon.

Q2: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?

Pints at The Waverly bar across the road.

Q3: We all have weird pre-performance rituals. What is yours, and how confused would a normal person be if they walked in on you doing it?

Tanning a two-litre bottle of Irn Bru; inhaling a watermelon vape and screaming Billy Connolly’s ‘I wish I was in Glasgow,’ at the top eh ma lungs. Hopefully they would join in!

Q4: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

Making everyone get up fur a boogie, chewin the ear aff folk aboot words and staying till the end, to lead a version of the closing time anthem ‘Loch Lomond’ that looks mer liht a mosh pit at Trsmt.
