A Fringe Quickie (#298) with ‘Earth to Squiggy: A Lenny and The Squigtones Musical’

Questions answered by Natalie Lander.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Leni and Squigronica will singing all the way down the Royal Mile everyday! They’ll be passing out flyers, giving out merch, and taking selfies. If you like funny chicks, comedy rock-n-roll, and aliens, our show is for you! Plus, it’s only 45 min! A literal quickie.

Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?

We would be a Midori Sour: sweet, easy on the pallet, something everyone can enjoy. A little retro, like songs we sing by Lenny and The Squigtones or for fans of Lavern and Shirley. With a dash of weirdness and possible radio activity. And a cherry on top for the kids to enjoy!

Q3: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?

We are not above selling feet pics! Especially to folks who are into converse sneakers and cowboy boots. But we don’t discriminate against any foot fetishes, we respect them all!

Q4: If your show suddenly developed a massive ego and became the biggest diva in the 2026 Fringe, what absurd, hyper-specific item would be mandatory on its dressing room rider?

Bosco’s Chocolate Syrup, mystery meat sandwiches, a wrench, and of course the Squig-A-Phone; a one of a kind musical instrument, made from Folger’s Coffee cans, that helps communicate with aliens on Mars. Oh, and drop a sick beat!
