A Fringe Quickie (#101) with ‘Jamie Wolf: Psycho’

Questions answered by Jamie Wolf.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

I plan on having breakdowns on my Instagram story every day in an attempt to guilt trip people into attendance. It will not work.

Q2: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?

First, I’d cry after the show. Then, I’d write for an hour (it will all be bad). Scream into pillow, say I’m quitting. Then, go to sleep and wake up feeling worse. My strategies have never made me feel better. That’s kind of what the show is about, actually.

Q3: We all have weird pre-performance rituals. What is yours, and how confused would a normal person be if they walked in on you doing it?

I try to be talking to someone until the moment I go onstage. A normal person would be unbelievably confused and probably say something like “uhh don’t you have to go on now?”

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

A real review I got one time (my friend overheard this after a show and told me) “The blond guy was hilarious, I hope he doesn’t kill himself.” I don’t think I’ll ever top that one.
