A Fringe Quickie (#49) with ‘Smut Slam’

Questions answered by Cameryn Moore.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

I’m going to be in Grassmarket (or near Three Sisters when it rains) with Sidewalk Smut. I create bespoke typewritten erotica on the spot, and I take advantage of people’s bemusement to slip them a flyer and a Wee Blue Book (PBH Free Fringe). It’s not desperate, it’s DELIGHTFUL.

Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?

A Hurricane! It’s fruity and refreshing, but it’s named after a force of nature for a reason. In the right hands it’s surprisingly complex and potentially life-changing.

Q3: If you brought this show home for the holidays, how would your parents react to them?

They’d try to be hospitable, but mostly they’d just be quiet except when they’re changing the subject. They’d reluctantly offer us the guest room, but we would refuse and just book at a hotel room. After the visit, my folks would email me and say that I seem really happy.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

They’ll see the lube packets and a scribbled-over bit of paper with graphic yet cryptic notes, and they might feel a little disoriented, at least until they’ve had some coffee, but they’ll feel lighter and more at peace with their body and sexuality than they have in years.
