A Fringe Quickie (#146) with ‘Hit Me Baby One More Lame!’

Questions answered by Baby Lame.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Critiques might argue hanging an entire solo show off of Britney Spears is a desperate marketing ploy—and they’d be right! But if you don’t like BJ, fine. I’m throwing in porny romance, murder and Sigourney Weaver—surely there’s a marketing hook hidden somewhere there?!

Q2: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?

I really want to live a shared experience with all the incredible artists at this year’s Fringe. So if my show is going to shit, I’m dragging everyone else’s down with me. See you in the gutter bitches!

Q3: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

It’s consumed a litre of tequila, snorted up a bag of cheetohs, created a sweaty darkroom in the attic, shaved its head, and is currently smashing the host’s coffee table recreating the Madonna VMA’s moment by tongue kissing your mum.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

As the Britney impersonator (who sometimes impersonates Sigourney Weaver) being fisted live on stage by a stranger. Oops! I did it again. #imnotthatinnocent
