Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
Lying in a car park until someone digs me up for the headlines. It worked in 2012. Failing that, issuing royal summonses on the Royal Mile (jury service is compulsory, the defendant is charming;) begging passers-by to hear my appeal. My kingdom for a full house.
Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?
Hippocras, of course! What else would a medieval king desire? The red wine for the blood of my enemies (although a Bloody Mary sounds very interesting too)
Q3: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?
With Long Covid and ASD, I pace myself or pay for it. A play about a king written off for his body, performed by a man whose body sets the budget. Some days the performance is the easy part; getting there is the show. But I wouldn’t trade it: Fringe is my favourite time of year.
Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?
You’ll wake certain you got the verdict right, then less certain, then reaching for the history books to check. That’s how a man overturns five hundred years of bad press: one jury at a time.
