A Fringe Quickie (#137) with ‘A Foot is Not an Appropriate Prize for the Tombola’

Questions answered by Daniel McVey.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Despite how appropriate it might be with the name of my show, I won’t be posting feet pics, but I’ve got a few other (non-foot related) marketing schemes up my sleeve, and my character Lydia (who runs the Tombola) will be making many appearances in them.

Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?

A nice dry sherry. Then it would complain for too long that the cocktail bar doesn’t stock sherry, before finally pointing to the cocktail on the menu that comes in the most outrageous colour with the highest number of spirits and ordering two (one for each hand).

Q3: If you brought this show home for the holidays, how would your parents react to them?

I think at first my parents might be disarmed by the familiarity of a small village murder mystery, delighted at being included, then concerned at being suspected, before being horrified as the doorbell rings and it’s an eldritch horror. That would likely ruin Christmas dinner.

Q4: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

Hopelessly trying to work out who spilled red wine on the kitchen floor (where it had been eavesdropping), but instead of cleaning it up walks the wine through the rest of the flat. (The show’s writer and performer Dan, however, is an ideal party guest, please invite them!)
