A Fringe Quickie (#117) with ‘Leo Hincks: Emotional Cowboy’

Questions answered by Leo Hincks.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

There seems to be a lot interest in social media promotion or having a flying team but I figure if I just scream and scream and scream then that will generate some kind of buzz?

Q2: If your show walked into a cocktail bar, what would it order?

Probably a whiskey on the rocks because that’s what they drink in Oscar winning movies, only to realise it tastes like cleaning liquid but drinking it anyways because everyone is watching.

Q3: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?

If I bomb I usually just listen to ‘Maybe This Time’ from Cabaret on my headphones on repeat whilst pacing up and down the street and only joining in on certain words for dramatic effect. It’s kind of like one of those silent discos except with more emotional depth and struggle.

Q4: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

Turning on the TV to play videos of Matilda the Musical to nit-pick where the child actors show a lack of stage presence to anyone who will listen, or at least be in unfortunately near proximity. I don’t think my show would get invited to house parties.
