A Fringe Quickie (#91) with ‘Sunny Boy’

Questions answered by Adi Parmar.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Bums? Grindr has plenty. I must advertise my show to fellow homosexuals on our favourite platform. PERIOD.

Q2: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?

By selling my soul to the devil (working a day job in finance). Don’t judge me! I am a victim of the system. STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT. Wait, you were looking for a guy in Finance? 6’5″? Trust Fund. I DON’T HAVE A TRUST FUND, I just told you I had to finance fringe like this!

Q3: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?

I shall lie flat on the ground and listen to Lana Del Rey’s Norman F*cking Rockwell (Best Album of all time), followed by eating some comfort Indian food and going for a long walk. Followed by feeling better and frantically getting back to work (rehearsing).

Q4: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?

Answering my parents’ phone call in a quiet corner and explaining how I am at my corporate work event instead. “Yes mom, I know the music is loud. Yeah it IS work but it’s a work PARTY. NO, I am not drinking. I don’t drink (lie).”
