I will go to every Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh and beg the store staff to come to a Japanese clown game show about grief.
Q2: Cancel culture has finally come for your show. What sins has it committed?
They found out my great-uncle was a kamikaze pilot. He told me about it though, so he obviously wasn’t a good one.
Q3: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?
Last year, on August 22nd, I was definitely at home watching Netflix, and NOT at the Chase Manhattan bank on 450 Avenue P that got robbed. Although the robbers probably had a good reason, like wanting to make a clown show about their Japanese grandma’s funeral.
Q4: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?
I do this ancient Japanese thing called ‘hamigaki’, where I take a brush and rub it on my teeth to clean them everyday.
