Questions answered by Alex Franklin.
Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
So genuinely – we’re burying £500 somewhere around Edinburgh and doing a treasure hunt. It’s sort of a long running tradition that has got out of hand. Arguably it promotes the shows? I’m not entirely certain it does – it definitely promotes something…maybe just treasure?
Q2: We all have weird pre-performance rituals. What is yours, and how confused would a normal person be if they walked in on you doing it?
I normally try and see how many people I can push over in an hour. If someone was confused by my actions it doesn’t affect me as I’d just push them too. Every day I try and break my own record. It’s not always possible, but it’s always good to aim for self-improvement 🙂
Q3: If your show suddenly developed a massive ego and became the biggest diva in the 2026 Fringe, what absurd, hyper-specific item would be mandatory on its dressing room rider?
It’s own A Capella group, all of varying heights, backgrounds, and abilities. Every day would be a singing competition to find the current weakest of the group, whereupon they would be put down like a horse at The Grand National.
Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?
Omg can’t believe I met the love of my life last night! xx
