A Fringe Quickie (#1) with ‘Autocorrect Thinks My Name is “Rubbish”‘

Questions answered by Ruaridh Miller.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Does prayer count? If so, a lot of that! I’ve also started posting more clips to TikTok etc, and so have been dealing with the comments sections which have been very fun and absolutely haven’t made me consider all my life choices.

Q2: Cancel culture has finally come for your show. What sins has it committed?

My show makes some bold statements about middle class people, although as a middle class person myself I’ve got a pass to say them. So no cancellations there, although potentially some ruffled feather boas. My show also committed a hit-and-run in Ireland once.

Q3: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?

My self-care strategy is to drink a lot of alcohol in the hours immediately after my show. It’s a tactic of self-care which involves little actual care for yourself. It’s a unique strategy, I don’t believe anyone else performing at the festival will have thought of this approach.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

Hopefully fondly, like a past lover who you no longer harbour intimate feelings for but who you appreciate for sharing a moment of time in your life. Also my big finale involves me releasing hornets, so the scars from that should be pretty tasty the morning after!
