Questions answered by Thiago Richter.
Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
The real sense of urgency lies in the creative process. We treat every promotional material as an extension of the play itself. Not just marketing, but companion pieces to the work.
Q2: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?
Financing’s been the hardest part, especially with no property. Also, our grannies are not worth much on the illicit market right now. Granny-selling has become a main side hustle, so we’d know. Deeply thankful to have had help from the Brazilian consulate and APAA, however.
Q3: We all have weird pre-performance rituals. What is yours, and how confused would a normal person be if they walked in on you doing it?
Totally confused. We warm up with Hatha yoga, so that’s within the parameters of relative normality. Then we get to the crazy as we do our voice exercises with repetition and variation of syllables, which would look completely bonkers to anyone watching.
Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?
As a dream, we hope. A fever dream. Something you lived and didn’t quite live. You remember it, it’s all really vivid, but something always slips away somehow. Like it is with life. Do you remember?
