A Fringe Quickie (#517) with ‘The Shocking Truth About Flat Earth’

Questions answered by Alexander Moneypenny and Adam Tuffrey.

Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

If you come & see our show 3 times or more, Alex has promised to name his first born child after you. If you see it 5 times, you can have the second for free. Like, literally have it, legally. (He hasn’t asked his partner, but she’ll be fine. We also haven’t asked Alex.)

Q2: Cancel culture has finally come for your show. What sins has it committed?

There’s a reference to Jane McDonald singing Jai Ho… it’ll cancel us with a certain crowd and absolutely pull in another!!

Q3: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?

We have, unfortunately, sold Granny. We met some charming men while out on a walk in Romania who took an immediate interest in Doris, bless her. I think their names were Andrew and Tristan. They were shirtless which we thought was odd, but we did the deal anyway.

Q4: We all have weird pre-performance rituals. What is yours, and how confused would a normal person be if they walked in on you doing it?

Really simple. Here it is: 90 seconds massaging (our egos). 60 seconds skipping (meals to fund the Airbnb). 5 minutes running (away from the dark thoughts). 30 seconds lifting (Adam’s hungover body to work). That was also the audition process, weirdly enough. Confused? Probably.
