Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars

Our entire marketing budget is going on a helicopter drop of Chokotoffs over Edinburgh. Each one comes wrapped in a FLESH flyer. It’ll either fill the seats or become the weirdest international incident Belgium has ever caused in Scotland.

Q2: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?

In the end, my granny is financing the show with her… let’s call it… criminal empire. She hates that term. She prefers “small business owner.” If you find a bean in her homemade jam, swallow it at your own risk.

Q3: We all have weird pre-performance rituals. What is yours, and how confused would a normal person be if they walked in on you doing it?

We walk in front of the set: 10 steps… turn back, 9… turn back, then 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, and we climb. Numbers: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10. If you see us, don’t interrupt. A stranger once asked: “New Year’s Eve or mental breakdown?” Both.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

If FLESH could answer: “Tomorrow morning, you’ll still remember me. I’ll be lying next to you, making your heart go thump thump. Once you’ve seen me, you can’t really get rid of me. Kisses. xx”
