Questions answered by Melissa Firlit.
Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
The real question is what WON’T I do to get bums in seats for Dirty Dancer. I have some schemes that come with a healthy amount of perspiration utilizing an 80s perspective to engage with folks to turn them from a stranger on the street to an audience member in the seat.
Q2: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?
I’m financing this run with duct tape and a prayer! Along with many side hustles that stretch the mind and the body to make that money. Oh and of course a few credit cards to take the taps, hits and swipes that the body can’t.
Q3: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?
Hydration, stretching, nourishment and a massage or two to keep the body working like a charm. On tough days hydration means libations, stretching means coma of comfort, nourishment means emotional eating and massage means a girl gets to do what a girl needs to do.
Q4: If all the shows running right now were at a massive Fringe house party, what is your show doing?
Nobody puts this baby in a corner so we would be dancing (dirty, of course). Bumping and pulsing, thrusting and hip rolling, We will be having the time of our life!
