Questions answered by Thomas Currie.
Q1: If you could take just one record with you to survive the Fringe — your ultimate comfort, hype, or grounding track — what would it be, and why?
Chris De Burgh’s ‘Spanish Train and Other Stories’. I do a version of ‘Spanish Train’ in the show. His storytelling through song is second to none. All of his songs could be poetry on their own, or simply instrumental music and still would evoke the same story and that’s an art.
Q2: If your show had a criminal record, what would it be for?
Charged with disturbing the peace at midnight, spreading conspiracy theories, then resisting arrest by singing a show tune.
Q3: If your show had a pick-up line, what would it be?
Well since the show is all about the lack of sleep, it would be along the lines of… “I don’t dream much anymore. But if I did, it would look a lot like this moment…”!
Q4: If your show sent a drunk text at 3am, what would it say?
It would have to be… “I just fed your dating history into ChatGPT and turned it into a song. It’s a banger. You’re welcome.”
