Welcome to Fringe Quickies 2026, The Quinntessential Review’s bite-sized Fringe preview series. This is your chance to flirt, charm, intrigue, or laugh audiences through the doors of your Fringe room/basement/cupboard this August.
Since launching as #SNAPCHATZ back in 2023, this bite-sized personal column for Fringe shows has swiftly become the favourite way for thousands of ticket-buyers to find their perfect shows.
The challenge for you, Fringe Dreamers, if you choose to accept it, is to use your words to stand out from the hundreds of Quickies we will publish this year. With our readers’ fingers hovering dangerously near that ticket link, what will you say to push them over the edge? But what is Fringe Quickies?
In the distant past, (some of) your ancestors would put adverts in newspapers looking to meet their ideal partner. Perhaps you exist because your grandfather had a wicked way with words. Well print news might be endangered, and dating apps have taken over (some would say not particularly gloriously) from the personal columns.
But here on theQR.co.uk we’re keeping romance alive baby – just with a twist: you’ll be publishing your words on our highly popular arts website, to win the ticket-buying hearts of our readers. So if your show would like to meet a few/a lot more audience members, #FringeQuickies is for you!
It’s very simple: 4 questions, 4 answers, and your show details. One question that everyone answers, and three you select for yourself. That’s it.

Submissions close Thursday, 23rd July 2026, and will be published daily from Monday, 29th June 2026 to Thursday, 6th August 2026.
Can I win anything?
Yes, glory! We’ll be naming two unofficial “winners”: the audience favourite (most viewed) and our personal pick (the one that tickled us most). Something you can quote in your press, drop in your promo, or quietly milk for the rest of August.
How can I support the site?
