Questions answered by Wayne Stewart.
Q1: If you could take just one record with you to survive the Fringe — your ultimate comfort, hype, or grounding track — what would it be, and why?
‘When I Was Done Dying’ by Dan Deacon. It’s all there – chaos, catharsis, absurdity, and something close to transcendence. It makes me feel like everything’s unravelling… but somehow, that’s okay.
Q2: What’s the temperature of your show?
A slow, steady burn. Like sitting too close to a campfire – warm, comforting, but with moments that flare up and catch you off guard.
Q3: How will the audience remember you the morning after?
“That guy who made me laugh, made me think, and somehow made me care way more about the colour yellow than I ever expected.”
Q4: What moment in your show would your grandma absolutely hate (or absolutely love)?
She’d hate the swearing, love the peaches, and quietly worry about the philosophical angst. But I think she’d stay for the singing!
