A Fringe Quickie (#92) with ‘David Elms Describes A Room’

Questions answered by David Elms.

Q1: If you could take just one record with you to survive the Fringe — your ultimate comfort, hype, or grounding track — what would it be, and why?

Who Loves You by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. I used it as the audience in track for my debut hour in 2014 and it still has the power to make me lie down and shit my pants with excitement.

Q2: What’s the temperature of your show?

I’ve been told the show is very much like a warm bath, and if revealing that doesn’t sell tickets then there’s something wrong with your readership..

Q3: If your show walked into a bar, what would it order?

My show would order a huge punch bowl and 67 straws. Then we’d all attempt to drink at the same time while making eye contact with as many fellow sippers at the same time.

Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?

People have more than once messaged me to say they’ve stayed in bed with their eyes closed imagining the room that we built together in the show the night before. It’s a special gift that you get to take with you and replay whenever you like.
