A Fringe Quickie (#82) with ‘Tom short – succes’

How will the audience remember you the morning after?

I have a moment in the show which breaks apart my show but also common tropes of Edinburgh comedy shows so I hope it will enable audiences to see the structures that are presented to them in comedy and demand more to push the artform further.

What brings a nice show like yours to a place like the Edinburgh Fringe?

My style has been described as anarchic clowning which reinvents the stand up format. I have also been described as the festivals Keyser Soze both descriptions I love! It is something I take pride in trying to create new shows that push boundaries of performance and the fringe; the worlds largest arts festival is absolute best place to do that.

How do you keep your performances fresh every night?

I believe in a comedy show the audience are just as important as the comic. But I dont think often the audience have very much agency usually so I try to give the audience as much power as I can and let them steer the show with their laughter and input. As a result each show is different, the shows in the past have been described as improv clowning which I think is a very apt description!
