Fringe news 2023: Performers – Festival Accommodation at QMU is ready for you

Fringe news - TheQR.co.uk

Last year, the occupancy rate for available rooms at Queen Margaret University for Fringe performers was only 56%. Let that sink in, one of the best, most affordable options for many, probably most performers was only half full. The QR isn’t being paid to promote QMU’s offering, but here’s what’s included for £250 a week!

  • Single en-suite room in one of our self-catering flats
  • Access to a fully equipped self-catering kitchen which would be shared with other guests within the flat
  • Bed linen which is changed weekly
  • Free parking
  • Free secure cycle storage
  • Unlimited access to stunning grounds
  • Peaceful location (6 minutes by train from Edinburgh city centre)

Additional extras include:

  • Rehearsal space at preferential rates
  • Weekly / monthly gym passes at discounted rates

It’s only 6 minutes on a train into Edinburgh Waverley £3.60 off-peak return / £4.70 anytime return.

I’ll be following up with other tips for finding someplace to stay during the Fringe and Festival season, however for single rooms in a secure, clean environment, QMU is very hard to beat.
