Questions answered by Alexandra Borghino.
Q1: Aside from this Quickie, what is the most desperate marketing tactic you plan on using to get bums in seats this August? 280 chars
We’ll be everywhere families are! Our colourful costumes were a big success on the Royal Mile before, so we’ll be back with even more magical ones, handing out flyers, visiting parks, playgrounds and community centres, and politely refusing to leave until people book tickets 🤣
Q2: The Fringe is horribly expensive. How are you financing this run? Did you remortgage your house, sell your granny, or start an illicit side hustle?
It’s definitely a struggle! We’re currently running a crowdfunding campaign, and we’re hoping that by the time this article comes out we’ll have reached our target. Otherwise, it’ll be pasta with salt for the next few months!
Q3: All shows will have their tough days. What sophisticated self-care strategies will you employ to survive?
My self-care plan is highly sophisticated: find a quiet patch of grass in a park for an emergency power nap, survive on coffee and snacks, and spend five minutes pretending I don’t have anywhere to be.
Q4: How will the audience remember you the morning after?
We hope they’ll wake up humming the songs, smiling at the memory of our giant set, whimsical costumes and magical world, then immediately start asking for an encore. We accept no responsibility for any tunes that stay stuck in their heads for days.
